Address: 607 Lakeview Ct, Spring Hill, TN 37174
General Contractor: Bobby M (SMC Construction)
Project Type: New Construction
Scope: Concrete steps, patio, & walkway
Landscaping: Grade dirt
Days on Site: Two (2)
Required Materials: Gravel, forms, & concrete
607 Lakeview Ct was a new construction home addition that required the installation of a concrete walkway, patio, & home entry steps.
Day #1: Slab Prep
On the first day of the project TriStar Concrete graded the dirt for the concrete patio & walkway. After the grade was cut about 8 inches, forms installed around what would be the perimeter of the concrete. Gravel from Rogers Group, Inc arrived shortly after form installation and 4 inches of crusher run rock was compacted as the base of the slab. The last step was installing forms for the concrete steps. Plywood and 2×8’s were used to form up the steps and bags of gravel (supplied by Care Supply) were stacked and compacted inside the steps to be filled with concrete. Lastly, SMC Construction approved the slab & step layout and concrete was ready to be poured.
Day #2: Concrete Pour
On the final day of the project, concrete was poured. After approving TriStar Concrete’s prepour checklist, seven yards of 3,500psi air entrained concrete was ordered from Nashville Ready Mix (a local concrete supplier). 607 Lakeview Ct was a tight project a few hundred yards of the street, so concrete had to be poured with TriStar Concrete’s bobcat skidsteer. The pour process took some time but after concrete was placed the finishing process was performed. TriStar Concrete finished the project by taking off forms and grading dirt to the edge of the slab.
